Cambridge ESOL Tests

Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) is an organisation that provides assessments in English language ability for non-native speakers of English.

Cambridge ESOL examinations are taken by over two million learners in more than 130 countries each year. The exams cover general English, business English, academic English and English for young learners.

Cambridge ESOL Structure:

General English

  • KET (Key English Test): Elementary
  • PET (Preliminary English Test): Intermediate
  • FCE (First Certificate in English): Upper Intermediate
  • CAE (Certificate in Advanced English): Advanced
  • CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English): Proficient

Business English

  • BEC (Business English Certificates): is an internationally recognised qualification that show employers your skills for using English in the workplace. BEC is an ideal English language exam if you are preparing for a career in business. There are three different levels of BEC: BEC Preliminary, BEC Vantage and BEC Higher.

Legal English

  • ILEC (International Legal English Certificate) is a high level language qualification for legal practice at levels B2 and C1 of the CEFR.  English is the common language of the legal profession, of business and of international affairs.
